The XA2500 features the drivers and crossover from Snell's award winning Reference XA 2900, in a utility enclosure for built-in applications. The result is an LCR that approaches the performance levels of its Reference stable mate, at less than half the price. By joining the best of loudspeaker design, reference quality components and Snell’s legendary cabinetry, Joe D'Appolito Ph.D and his team has achieved the bandwidth, output, and dimension on par with the best professional screening rooms. Featuring the eXpanding Array (XA), a unique driver arrangement developed from months of computer modeling, the XA 2500 assures extremely flat response directed to the listening area, while quieting the floor and ceiling reflections that bounce back to the listener as distortion. These 0ptimum dispersion characteristics are enhanced by the use of the drivers and crossovers from Snell’s $25,000 XA Reference Tower. For custom integration, the “Spectral Control” tunes out distortions induced by common installation conditions. Notably, it’s Boundary Switch adjusts for flattest response, whether the speaker is located in free space, near a rear wall, or on the floor. While the Upper Treble Switch compensates for treble loss when mounting the XA 2500 behind perforated film screens. For applications demanding movie theater dynamics and output while preserving the detail and nuance in music, the XA 2500 exceeds all expectations.
